Envoy is designed to automate the initial steps of job applications while keeping you in full control. After discovering potential jobs, Envoy intelligently prepares personalized application materials for your review. This section outlines how job preparation works and how you can review and approve applications before submission.

Asynchronous Application Preparation

Once Envoy identifies jobs matching your criteria, you decide which ones to pursue. Clicking "Review" on a job card in the Portal initiates the asynchronous preparation workflow:

Queueing: When you click "Review," Envoy immediately enqueues the job for detailed preparation. The Portal remains responsive, allowing you to continue browsing or perform other tasks.
Job Description Fetch: A background worker within the Agent service fetches the full, detailed job description from the original source (e.g., SEEK) using the Tools service. This ensures the AI has complete context.
AI Analysis & Drafting: Envoy's AI then analyzes the comprehensive job description, comparing it against your stored professional profile. In parallel, it drafts a personalized cover letter tailored specifically to the requirements and nuances of the job.
Draft Generation: The AI identifies key requirements, assesses your fit (e.g., categorizing alignment as "STRONG," "MODERATE," or "WEAK" matches), and generates the cover letter along with the evidence for its match assessment. It also identifies any potential "gaps" in your profile relative to the job.
State Update: All generated drafts and assessments are saved, and the application's status is updated from preparing to prepared (or unsuitable if Envoy determines a significant mismatch).
Portal Notification: The Portal continuously polls for updates. As soon as the application is prepared, the review panel automatically becomes available for your input.

This asynchronous process ensures that the user interface remains fast and responsive, as the computationally intensive steps happen efficiently in the background without blocking your interaction with the application.

Human Review and Approval

After preparation is complete, the Portal presents a dedicated review interface, designed to give you all the information needed to make an informed decision. Here, you can:

Match Breakdown: A collapsible table provides a detailed, evidence-based assessment of how well your profile aligns with each job requirement. You'll see whether your skills and experience are a "STRONG," "MODERATE," or "WEAK" match for specific criteria, giving you insight into the AI's reasoning.
Cover Letter Editing: The AI-drafted cover letter is displayed in an editable text area. You have full control to refine, rephrase, or add any personal touches you deem necessary to enhance your application, ensuring it perfectly reflects your voice and qualifications.
Job Description Context: The original, full job description is shown side-by-side, allowing for easy comparison and ensuring your edits are perfectly aligned with the employer's requirements.
Approve or Discard:
- Clicking "Approve" saves any modifications you made to the cover letter and marks the application as approved, queuing it for the final submission phase.
- Clicking "Discard" removes the application from your queue, signaling that you are no longer interested in pursuing this opportunity, without any further action.

This crucial human review step ensures that every application submitted through Envoy has your explicit consent and personal endorsement, combining the efficiency of automation with the precision of human oversight.
